Big Horn, 70 minutes west of Rocky Mountain House: TaOtha Community School (Preschool to grade 9). Teacher housing is available.

This Posting is for a Physical Education Teacher in Mini Thni, Alberta


Physical Education Teacher Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our team. As a Physical Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing physical education programs

that promote physical fitness, motor skills development, and overall wellness in students.


Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons that align with curriculum standards

  • Teach students various sports, games, and exercises to improve their physical fitness and coordination

  • Provide instruction on proper techniques and safety guidelines for different physical activities

  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and teamwork

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into interdisciplinary learning

  • opportunities

  • Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, such as intramural teams or after-school clubs

  • Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and clean learning environment



Qualifications:


-First Nations education experience highly desirable

- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (phys ed focus preferred)

- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

- Previous experience teaching physical education at the elementary or secondary level

- Strong knowledge of physical fitness concepts, sports rules, and safety protocols

- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues

- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students

- Passion for promoting health and wellness through physical education
