We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and student-centered Physical Education Teacher to join

our team.

Position Summary

The Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering a

comprehensive physical education program that promotes student wellness, fitness, teamwork,

and life-long healthy living. This role requires a teacher who can inspire students, integrate

land-based and cultural activities, and foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning

environment.

Key Responsibilities

● Plan, deliver, and assess Physical Education programs for students in [insert grade

levels, e.g., K–12 or 6–12].

● Promote physical literacy, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles.

● Incorporate outdoor education and land-based activities into lessons where possible.

● Supervise and coach school teams, intramurals, and extracurricular physical activity

opportunities.

● Collaborate with staff to integrate Stoney language and culture into physical education.

● Maintain a safe and supportive environment in the gymnasium, outdoor spaces, and on

field trips.

● Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and community

engagement.

● Strong classroom management and communication skills.

● Ability to integrate Indigenous perspectives, values, and land-based learning into

teaching practice.

● Current First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).

● Coaching experience in a variety of sports and activities (asset).
