Principal's Message

Aba Wathetch,

I would like to welcome our students, staff, parents, community members, and visitors to Ta-Otha Community School. We are proud of the rich Stoney history, culture, and language embedded within our school’s curriculum and daily life.
Language, culture, and land-based learning form the foundation of our education program, setting us apart from other schools in west-central Alberta. Located in the heart of this region, our school serves as a bridge between ancestral knowledge and modern opportunity, ensuring our youth are equipped to lead in both worlds.
When you walk through our doors, you will find a quality educational program within a learning environment that is safe, caring, and supportive for everyone. Please join us for another great year at Ta-Otha Community School! We look forward to seeing you.

Îsnîyes,

Devin Green, Ed.D
Principal

Our History

TaOtha Community School opened its doors in 2009 for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The school was named after Ta-Otha, Peter Wesley, who has led his people to traditional territories in 1894 against Indian Agent's demand to stay with in Stoney Reserve boundaries. This eventually became the Big Horn Reserve in the 1950's.
